Here are screenshots for our final simulation.  Click to enlarge.

Technical Achievements

- Space Shuttle movement with parametric equations
- Particle system for planet explosion with billboarding sprite points
- Sound system using FMod EX API
- Translucent materials
- Normal mapping, parallax mapping, specular mapping, and bump mapping
- Image textures and procedural textures
- Efficient low polygon modeling (the simulation contained less than 6500 poly's)
- Stereoscopic Vision
- Hydrolic Chair implementation (although it was a bit jerky)
- Collision Detection

Space Trip Simulation Runthrough

To start off the simulation, the viewer is inside a space ship that is traveling towards a planet. Soon the spaceship circles a spaceport and eventually lands on the spaceport's "pad". The hatch to the cockpit slides open, the viewer exits the ship, and is now free to move around the spaceport. Eventually an alarm is activated and a flashing red light starts to blink. If the viewer get close to the opening of the spaceship cockpit, they can re-enter the ship, the hatch closes, and the ship takes off. Soon after the ship will turn around to reveal the planet and spaceport explode. The simulation is now over.
